LASER PICKUP REPLACEMENT
Cleaning the pick up lens
Before you replace the pick up, please try to clean the lens with a alcohol soaked cotton swab.
Life of the laser diode
When the life of the laser diode has expired, the following symptoms will appear.

Semi-fixed resistor on the APC PC board The semi-fixed resistor on the APC printed circuit board which is attached to the pickup is used to adjust the laser power. Since this adjustment should be performed to match the characteristics of the whole optical block, do not touch the semi-fixed resistor.  If the laser power is lower than the specified value, the laser diode is almost worn out, and the laser pickup should be replaced.  If the semi-fixed resistor is adjusted while the pickup is functioning normally, the laser pickup may be damaged due to excessive current.
REPLACEMENT OF LASER PICKUP
FLOW OF FUNCTIONAL OPERATION UNTIL TOC READ [Click on chart to Enlarge]
CONNECTING METHOD
When the KSM-770ABA mechanism is used, the expansion cable is used as follows.
First short-circuit the pickup circuit before removing the pickup. Then carry out the replacement.

Disassemble procedure is given by previous post here.

          HEAD LAMPS & PARKING LAMPS
          • The headlamps are controlled by the multi-function lever located on the left side of the steering column. They will come on with the ignition switch in any position. Turning the headlamp switch to the first position turns on the parking lamps, the license plate lamps and the instrument panel illumination. Turning the switch to the second position turns on all of the previous lamps and the headlamps. Turning the switch to the off position turns off all the lamps.
          • Turning the lighting switch to the first position can turn on the parking lamps. Turning the switch to the OFF position can turn off the parking lamps.  This lever also controls headlamp high beam and low beam. When the headlamps are on, pushing the lever away from the driver until the switch clicks changes the lamp from low beam to high beam. An indicator lamp on the instrument cluster assembly will come on when the high beam headlamps are on. To return the headlamps to low beam, pull the lever toward the driver.
          • The headlamps must be aimed for proper illumination of the road. Headlamp aim should be checked whenever a new headlamp assembly is installed or service repairs to the front-end area may have disturbed the headlamp assembly or its mountings.

Verify the state of TV set:  switch the TV ON by “Power on/off” switch, Then verify the LED color of touch button. Red is standby state and blue is working state.
Checking Supply Power:  If the color of LED is green, the power supply for signal board. F801 supply 5V, N804, N803 supply 3.3V power(Test the PIN 2). N808 supply 2.5V(Test the PIN 2), D806 supply 8V, N804 supply 1.8V. All these are for main IC N001, N401, N504.

Digital signal part: Turn on the power => N001 RESET and IO port initialize => N504 electrify, reset, initialize => Turn on back light lamp => Successful start And LOGO display.
          • After turning on the power, if blank screen appears (no back light lamp), just press POWER button one times, if blank screen still there.
          • Check if the voltage of every power supply is normal.
          • Check if the crystal oscillator Z001(22.1184MHz) Z501(14.318MHz) Z400(24.576MHZ) oscillate or not, and oscillate frequency is right or not.
          • Back light control signal (BKLON) of XS806 has high level (above 3V) or not, if not, check whether fault soldered or short circuit happened.
          • If back light lamp is on while there is no display, check N001 and N504’s reset circuit and the output of the oscillator to confirm the CPU and SCALER are working or not. If RGB is abnormal, check N504;If RGB is working correctly and the other channel is abnormal check N504.
          White calibration adjustment.
          • Receive black or white signal under AV or PC mode, adjusting brightness and contrast to set the brightness to 5 Nit in dark area and 90 Nit in bright area.
          • Adjust white balance.

          LEARNING FEATURE
The KAMELEON 4 comes with a complete library of pre-programmed codes.  After you have set up the KAMELEON 4 for your device, you may find that there are one or more keys that you had on the original remote control, which do not have a place on the KAMELEON 4 keypad.  The KAMELEON 4 offers a special Learning feature that allows you to copy almost any function from your original remote control onto the keypad of the KAMELEON 4.
          • Make sure your original remote is working correctly.
          • Make sure neither your KAMELEON 4, nor your original remote control is pointing at your device.
          • Place the KAMELEON 4 and your original remote control on a flat sur-face. Make sure the ends, which you normally point at your device, are
          • facing each other. Point the original remote to the front left side of the KAMELEON 4 (see picture below). Keep the remotes at a distance of 2 to 5 cm (0.8 to 2 inches).
          Learning (direct)

          • Press the key (Example: ”16:9” key) on the KAMELEON 4 remote where you want to place the learned function. The IR Indicator will show “incoming IR” three times and then the display will switch off.

Direct Code Set Up.  To set up the KAMELEON 4 for your television.
If your device does not respond, follow steps 1 through 6 with each code listed for your brand. If none of the codes listed for your brand operate your device, then try the Search Method.
Some codes are quite similar. If your device does not respond or is not functioning properly with one of the codes, try another code listed under your brand.

Pressing CH+ will send the signal from the next code contained in the memory. Pressing CH- will send the signal from the previous code. This can be useful if you missed the code while searching (reversed search).
To search for your other devices, follow the same instructions above, only press the appropriate device key during step 2.
If your Video’s original remote control does not have a POWER key, press PLAY instead of POWER during step 5.
