SERVICE MODE
  • Turn the volume down to 0 and press [+] at the same time. The up right corner of TV screen will display “S”.
  • Press [+] again to cancel S” from the screen.
Turn the volume down to 0 and press [+] at the same time. Then the up right corner of TV screen will display “D”. You are in the service mode.

DIS-ASSEMBLY
Dismantling of the Front Panel Assembly
1) Open the DVD Tray by using the Open/Close Button while the Set is ON and disconnect the mains supply after removing the Tray Cover.
 Note:  If this is not possible, the DVD Tray has to be open manually.   Take a mini screwdriver about 2mm diameter and make a marking 24mm from the tip
Place the set on its side, insert the mini screwdriver till the marking and slide it towards the left until the Tray moves out of the Front Panel.
2) Return the set to its upright position and remove the Tray Cover and close the tray manually by pushing it back in.
3) Loosen 5 screws and remove the Top Cover by lifting the rear portion upwards before sliding it out towards the rear.  - 3 screws on the back  - 1 screws each on the left & right side

4) Loosen 6 screws & lift up the top edge of Front Panel assembly to free some catches before sliding it out towards the front.  - 3 screws on the bottom 1 screw on the inside  - 1 screw each on the left & right side.
Loosen 4 screws “ A “ on the top of main board as shown.
Loosen 4 screws “B” at the back panel as shown.
Power Board
Loosen 4 screws “D” at the top of the Power Board as shown.
DVD Module
Loosen 4 screws “E” to remove the DVD Module.
Note: In some service positions the components or copper patterns of one board may risk touching its neighboring pc boards or metallic parts. To prevent such short-circuit use a piece of hard paper or other insulating material between them.

TO INITIALIZE
The purpose of initialization is to place the set in a new out of box condition. The customer will be prompted to select a language and program channels after the set has been initialized.  To put the program back at the factory-default, initialize the LCD TV using the following procedure.
TYPE A
22PFL4507/F7 PHILIPS (Serial No.: ME1)
22PFL4507/F8 PHILIPS (Serial No.: XA1)
  • Turn the power on.
  • Enter the service mode.  To cancel the service mode, press [PWR] button on the remote control unit.
  • Press [FREEZE] button on the remote control unit to initialize the LCD television.
  • "INITIALIZED" will appear in the upper right of the screen. "INITIALIZED" color will change to green from red when initialization is completed.
TYPE B
22PFL4907/F7 PHILIPS (Serial No.: ME1)
  • Turn the power on.
  • Enter the service mode.  To cancel the service mode, press [PWR] button on the remote control unit.
  • Press [COLOR (red)] button on the remote control unit to initialize the LCD television.
  • "INITIALIZE" will appear in the upper right of the screen. The whole screen color will change to green and "INITIALIZE FINISH" will appear in the center of the screen when initialization is completed.
HOW TO SETUP SERVICE MODE
  1. Turn the power on.
  2. Press [MENU] button to display Setup menu.
  3. Select “Features”.
  4. Select “Software Upgrade”.
  5. Select “Current Software Info”.
  6. Press [0], [6], [2], [5], [9], [6] and [INFO] buttons on the remote control unit in this order. The following screen appears.
AN OTHER WAY
Turn the power on.
Press [0], [6], [2], [5], [9], [6], and [INFO] buttons on the remote control unit in this order. The following screen appears.
PURITY CHECK MODE
This mode cycles through full-screen displays of red, green, blue, and white to check for non-active pixels.
  • Enter the service mode.
  • Each time the [7] button on the remote control unit is pressed, the display changes as follows.
  • To cancel or to exit from the Purity Check Mode, press [CH RETURN] or [PREV CH] button.
